Sage Avenue Therapy offers a warm, welcoming space grounded in deep respect for individuality — a place where you can feel genuinely seen, valued, and supported in your unique therapeutic journey. I provide one‑on‑one counselling using evidence‑informed approaches to cultivate insight, build skills, and explore meaningful avenues for emotional development. Sage Avenue is committed to reducing stigma around seeking support and empowering you to connect with your inner wisdom and prioritise your mental health as an essential part of living well.

The approach to counselling is warm, affirming, and non‑judgemental. The focus is on open, compassionate conversations that invite curiosity and self‑understanding. Evidence‑informed tools and accessible mental‑health education to support clients in exploring what wellness looks like for them.

I support adults navigating a wide range of experiences, including stress, overwhelm, identity exploration, relationship challenges, life transitions, low mood, anxiety, and patterns that feel hard to shift. Whether you’re seeking clarity, emotional regulation, healthier boundaries, or simply a safe space to talk things through.

Counselling sessions are 60 minutes and offered one‑on‑one via telehealth, with flexible weekend and after‑hours options. Therapy is tailored to individual goals and draws on evidence‑based approaches, including DBT, ACT, and mindfulness, to strengthen emotional wellbeing and expand each person’s mental‑health toolkit.
About Rebecca
I'm Rebecca, the founder and therapist behind Sage Avenue Therapy. I hold a Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of New England, following an earlier Biomedical Science degree from the University of Technology Sydney. My approach is calm, thoughtful, and centred on creating a space where clients feel genuinely safe and understood. Drawing on both lived experience and evidence‑informed therapeutic methods, the work is grounded, effective, and tailored to each person’s needs
Why a Therapist?
A therapist offers something distinct — a steady, professional, and compassionate third party who isn’t part of your personal story. This emotional neutrality allows the focus to remain fully on you, giving you space to explore your experiences and life challenges without expectation or judgement.
Starting Therapy
Beginning therapy can feel uncertain, especially if you’re unsure what to expect or whether it will offer what you’re seeking. Research consistently shows that the strongest therapeutic outcomes occur when you feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood within the therapeutic relationship. In that kind of space, you’re able to explore your inner world more deeply.
Finding the right therapist is the most important part of the process! To help you get a sense of whether this space feels right for you, I offer a free 15‑minute phone conversation — a simple, pressure‑free way to connect, ask questions, and see if working together feels aligned.
Telehealth
Telehealth sessions allow you to access mental health support from the comfort of your own space. I offer flexible weekend and after‑hours sessions, allowing counselling to fit effortlessly into your life as a discreet and intentional part of your self‑care, without needing to navigate work schedules or other daytime commitments.
Counselling vs Psychology services
A counsellor listens deeply, reflects with you, and provides evidence‑based strategies that foster clarity, resilience, and personal growth. Counselling is ideal for those seeking a safe space to talk and reflect, while psychology is typically focused on assessment and treatment of specific mental health conditions and diagnoses.
